My buddy Forest grew up in Alaska, somewhat deprived of the company of TV friends most young adults had. When he enlisted in the army, he was amazed how many different guys, no matter where they came from in the United States, all knew the same people. “How the heck does everyone here but me know this guy Chandler?”
