Have you ever noticed that rude and tactless people frequently describe themselves as “honest” and “direct”? It doesn’t appear to me that they’re being honest with themselves.
A lot of polite and civil behavior involves keeping your mouth shut. Unless someone solicits my opinion, I don’t have to express it.
