This week at Happen: How can I better market myself online?
MSN.com, Match.com, HappenMagazine.com: they’re in a healthy and satisfying 3-way relationship. Meaning that you can find MSN/Match.com’s “Ask Lynn” columns –penned by BG’s alter ego — over at Happen now as well.
This week Lynn responds to Solitary Sue, a 56-year-old widow having trouble finding love on line. The first problem is the men themselves — looking for hookups not relationships — and then
My second problem is that I do have a couple of disabilities. I am on oxygen for emphysema and am somewhat limited in mobility due to a severe back injury. How do I introduce that into conversation without chasing anyone off?
How can Sue present herself and find the right kind of men? Read the full letter and Lynn’s response over at Happen, then comment below.

We used to publish a column in Online Dating Magazine titled, “Dating with Disabilities” that talked about the life, frustrations, and difficulties in doing online dating when you have disabilities that you feel limit your “attractiveness”.
I think the key is to win over people with your personality. For example, a girl may go on a date with a “hot guy” and think he’s the most attractive guy in the world until he opens his mouth. She may go out with an “average” or “not so good” looking guy and think he’s the most attractive guy in the world by the way he presents himself. What it comes down to is selling yourself based on your strengths. Also, pursuing options in addition to online dating is a good idea - particularly volunteering. It keeps up your social skills and helps you make new friends and could possibly find you that special someone who had the time to get to know you as a person before making judgements.

Agreed all around. (I’d just add that the other benefit of volunteering is that even if you don’t meet Mr/Ms Right, you have done the right thing. Everybody wins!) Thanks, Joe!
