Chris makes cartooning look easy, which is icing on an already dazzling cake of quick riffs, judicious background detail, and impeccable draftsmanship. The stories read so wonderfully clean, going for the heart without too much schlock, dropping pearls of wisdom without judgment, making you feel good without trying to sell you a notion that the world is perfect. I always look forward to the new BG toons! Awesome work! TG4CK!!!!
In the past I’ve had the temptation to act differently than normal, act in a way that would make me more appealing to a particular woman. Whenever I feel tempted, I keep reminding myself of the two likely outcomes:
1) She likes the person who I appear to be. After we start dating, she discovers what I’m really like and breaks up with me.
2) She doesn’t like the person I appear to be, and we never start dating in the first place. Even worse, it’s possible she would have liked who I really am instead.
Now I just try to show precisely who I am. If that’s not what that woman is looking for, then she’s obviously not worth spending any of my time pursuing.
SOOO much wisdom in these cartoons.
